Un bloc de Brian Cutts amb música i algun que altre comentari sobre les Terres de l’Ebre o l’actualitat ..... music and the odd comment on current affairs, or local news and events in southern Catalonia.

Valentine - Richard Hawley
What a song! What a singer! What a video! Another great Yorkshire artist of course ...
Thank you Brian. I loved this one and at the end I recognised where the "old" couple were - the top reservoir at Redmires - to the west of Sheffield. Richard Hawley lives less than half a mile from my house but naturally he keeps his distance from me.
Glad you enjoyed it! I love virtually all his stuff, to the point where I even buy it rather than just listening on the net! Hmm, half a mile ... we may well have a reason to visit you after all ...
Saw him perform in Los Angeles at a small rock club; he was great. We love the song, "The Ocean," on "Cole's Corners," but all of his work is priceless. He represents something that, except for his example and that of a few others, is peculiar to another time. Thanks Richard for being you. Nick and Mike Campbell
I couldn't agree more - I think we've got all his albums and it's all great stuff, especially ideal listening for late nights I find! Glad to find more fans of this great singer!

Oh wow, what a lovely song Brian. Not sure I understood the storyline?
Here is another Yorkshire lass to add to your bevy of Yorkshire musical talent. Stumbled across it on another blog in the US where she performed. http://fransmith.com
Good on you YP. I had been sitting on that one for a while, but obviously had not had the opportunity to share it. I thought Brian would appreciate it and am glad you liked it too.
Hi Carol, glad you enjoyed it too. The video (or my reading of it), with its black and white flashbacks, gives you the idea that the guy lost his girlfriend in an accident - but it turns out it was the motorbike itself that "died" and whose memorial they both visit! Thanks for the Fran Smith tip off - sounds good, and to top it all she sings with a clear Yorkshire accent, something I always like! Yet another blogpost to be added on to the "to do" list!
By the way, clicking on the "Yorkshire" tag on the blog and trawling far enough back through different posts you'll see a mixed bag of different Yorkshire singers and groups from the time when I actually had time to write series of blogposts with a common theme - but also a time when I was only posting in Catalan language! Still, the music stays the same!

I just listened to that song Carol - thank you for the link. I have also ordered the CD - the first musical CD I have bought in perhaps three years.
