Sort of back to work now...

Ok, ja tornem a estar aqui, almenys en cos. La ment encara està mig de vacances - i si afegim que fins el 15 de setembre els xiquets no comencen l'escola i jo només treballo de tarde-nit, pos, encara farem alguna cosa més; festes de Tortosa, platja, alguna piscina ....

Hem passat 3 setmanes a Anglaterra, i ara toca tornar a adaptar-nos als horaris/menjar/ritme de vida/temps aqui ja que 3 setmanes donen per molta desconexxio!

Finally back here again - back home? Who knows, as "home" is a tricky concept! After 3 weeks in England where we completely disconnected from our normal life, now it's the time to adapt once more to timetables/eating habits/work hours/weather etc here. Luckily it's a soft landing for me as, even though I started work yesterday, the kids are still off till the 15th and I am only working afternoon-evenings until then, so there'll be plenty of time for beaches and playing still... and maybe a bit of blogging as we have many things to mention regarding our holidays!

Fa dies (i setmanes!) que van acabar les vacances per un altre any. Com que no som molt originals, entre altres motius, aquest passat mes vam tornar a visitar Anglaterra, passant uns dies amb la família i uns dies a la costa a la mateixa zona que visitem cada any – North Yorkshire. Com ja vaig dir l’any passat, és una zona xula si t’agrada jugar a la platja o buscar fosiles o vida marina o passejar, però evidentment no cal pensar en prendre el sol ni banyar-se! Us podem recomanar visitar pobles com Staithes, poble de pirates allà on hi hagi, o Whitby, el poble de Dracula entre altres coses!

OK, summer holidays over and done with but we still haven't blogged about them! Not being ones for original exotic adventures, we went on holiday in August to the UK, to visit family and to spend a few days on the North Yorkshire coast as usual. Staithes, Whitby, Scarborough ... a grand time fossil hunting, crab catching, walking, chip eating, rock pool observing.

Summer Holiday - Cliff Richard

Bé, m’he adonat que alguns punts últims em fan semblar un punt de informació turística! Que si el riu, que si la Via Verda, que si les festes ... pos, ja que estem ... no podem oblidar el mar. Les Terres de l’Ebre tenen algunes platges en cales petites precioses, i per a la gent que li agrada alguna cosa diferent, les platges del Delta, kilometres i kilometres de sorra amb molt poca gent, i l’oportunitat de gaudir d’algunes dels paisatges més singulars de Catalunya. I el que queda seria parlar de la muntanya – el Port, els pobles de la Terra Alta, la serra del Cardo, en fi, si no volem el típic turisme de sol i cervesa (bé, si no volem tant!), les TTE son ideals!
Vaig a vore si l’oficina de turisme em regala un pernil.

Mentrestant, vacances més estiu, ens porta a Summer Holiday (Welch/Bennett) del Cliff Richard, de la pel·lícula del mateix nom - l’any 1963.

Recently the blog’s seemed like a tourist information office – what with the river, Green Way, festes , and so on. To finish the job, the Lower Ebre Region (Terres de l'Ebre) also has some wonderful small coves with beautiful beaches, but if you fancy something different there’s nothing like the beaches of the Delta, mile after mile of deserted beaches with sea on both sides, plus some spectacular scenery. And, finally, inland we have the mountains of El Port, Cardo, the mountain villages of the Terra Alta. So, if you’ve had enough of the typical holidays of sun and beer, why not try the Terres de l’Ebre, in the south of Catalonia?

Having said that, I’ll now go to the real tourist office for my tip, and here’s Summer Holiday, Cliff Richard’s 1963 hit.
