Take me to the Mardi Gras #Pancake_Day

Avui celebrem Pancake Tuesday a Anglaterra, que ve a significar el Dimarts dels Creps (bé, són bastant pareguts). Bàsicament tan si ets creient com si no, consisteix en fer un tip de menjar pancakes tot el dia, i demà ja veurem si fem quaresma, o la vida continua igual ... és el equivalent al Dijous Llarder que se celebra aquí. Naturalment natros celebrem tots dos, no sigui cosa que deixem una festa de banda!
A New Orleans, ho celebren en dimarts també, o sigui avui, però em sembla que la festa és molt més divertida que menjar pancakes. Ho diuen Mardi Gras – del francès.

Today is Pancake Tuesday in England. Whether or not the plan is to follow Lent, I think most English people will be eating pancakes today! It is the equivalent celebration to the Dijous Llarder (Fat Thursday) celebrated in Catalonia on the previous Thursday. Of course, we celebrate both – the more “festes”, the better!
As far as I know celebrations take place in New Orleans today too, known as the Mardi Gras, although they’re probably a bit more exciting than downing a plateful of pancakes!

Kodachrome

Un dels meus grups preferits de tots els temps és la parella de Simon & Garfunkel, però avui penjo una cançó que Paul Simon va fer en solitari, “Kodachrome” (1973, Simon). Encara que Simon & Garfunkel tenen la pinta de bons xiquets, m’encanta aquesta cançó per les lletres, començant amb la frase .... “When I think back on all the crap I learned in High School, it’s a wonder I can think at all” !
M’agrada la versió del Concert in Central Park de l’any 1981 però com que no he trobat el vídeo, us deixo amb aquest foto-montatge que algú ha penjat.

I que deu estar pensant Paul Simon ara, quan si que ens han retirat el Kodachrome, i tota una manera de fer fotos? La vida és més bonica en digital també?
